The Lion Theatre Company

'The Shrew... is a macho fantasy for an alcoholic yob.'

The Lion Theatre Company presents one of Shakespeare's most famous and controversial comedies, staged in a contemporary setting in The Hatfield Dining Hall.

The seemingly modest and demure Bianca has no shortage of suitors, but will not be allowed to marry until her ungovernable, ‘shrewish’, sister Katherina is taken down the aisle. The challenge of 'taming' the wild Katherina can only be taken up by the brash young man Petruchio, as maddeningly strongwilled and perverse as Katherina herself. Each of them, hellbent on confusing and outwitting each other right up to the play's controversial conclusion, makes for a spectacle not to be missed!

Admission: £3.50 – £4.50
