SUMMARY

18th Century Newcastle is the historic setting for The Glass Slipper – a funny, charming and occasionally silly rendition of one of the most told and best-known festive classics [Cinderella] in the world, ever!

The thrilling, universal tale pulls at the heartstrings as everyone can recognise themselves in the moving story about growing up. The Glass Slipper takes a glimpse inside the life of ‘Ella Humbleton’ whose mother dies when she is very young and whose father then remarries. This brings with it a devious new stepmother and two exceedingly badly-behaved sisters. But little does she know the adventures awaiting her on the horizon.

“It’s a show which takes a great story and tells it in an imaginative, ambitious, and delightful way; something that we try and do all year round at Northern Stage,” said Erica Whyman.

A whirlwind journey awaits Ella that involves a very charming Prince, sumptuous outfits, stunning locations including The Northumberland Balloon Ball (which would’ve been the most extravagant, glitzy and glamorous event of its time) being held at the dazzling Alnwick Castle.

Admission: £12.50(£10) – £20(£18)
