Castle Theatre Company

Castle Theatre Company transports you back to the 19th century where you are cordially invited to Lady Dunelm’s autumnal dinner party, hosted in the great Durham Castle for an original 'Murder Mystery'.

Beginning in the World Heritage Centre on Owengate, you, Lady Dunelm's guests for the night, will be met by Cartwright, the Butler, who will lead you through the grounds into the Castle itself. But be warned - despite Lady Dunelm's best efforts at hospitality, this is no ordinary dinner party. A sudden death takes everyone by surprise. After partaking in some wine and nibbles, watch as scandal, romance, and family secrets unfold before you.

This original piece of writing by Cressida Peever is beautifully tailored to Durham Castle and with the direction of Chris Blois-Brooke the performance is definitely not one to miss.

Please note the performance is a promenade production around many of the Castle's historic rooms and as such, no seating is available.

Tickets - Tickets include access to the performance, a glass of wine and nibbles.

Dress code - Please note that the final performance (7.30pm start on Sunday 1st December) is a black tie event please dress accordingly. All other performances are as normal.
